Kim, a down on his luck taxi driver in Korea, accepts a lucrative fair from Pater, a German journalist to go into Gwangju, South Korea. Pater wants to chronicle a student uprising, but little do they know the uprising has become much bigger than they initially though and now involves the military. Faced with a decision to leave or to stick by the journalist, Kim begins to realize how important this event will be and how much he needs to help document it – even if he’s in danger.
